The idea for the show came from Louis Pelletier, who wrote many of the scripts, along with other writers such as Jack Finke, Ed Adamson, and Collins himself. The show aired on CBS from November 25, 1944, to September 28, 1958, and was produced and directed by Max Marcin and Betty Mandeville.

The show focused on the inner workings of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, dramatizing real-life cases and showcasing the Bureau’s investigative techniques. It offered a glimpse into the world of law enforcement, highlighting the challenges and triumphs faced by FBI agents as they worked to maintain peace and protect the nation.

The program’s format allowed it to explore a wide range of criminal activities, from espionage and kidnapping to murder and fraud, providing listeners with a thrilling and informative listening experience.
