Here are a few of our favorites:

  • The Great Gildersleeve: Thanksgiving Dinner (November 25, 1945) - Our favorite, lovable, bumbling character, tries to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for his family and friends - with plenty of mishaps and comedic situations arising from his efforts.
  • Suspense: The Screaming Woman (November 25, 1948) - For those who like a touch of thriller with their turkey, this Suspense episode offers a chilling Thanksgiving story. While not directly about the holiday, its airing date makes it a unique listen for those who enjoy a darker side to their seasonal entertainment.
  • Burns & Allen: Gracie Buys a Live Turkey (November 17, 1942) - The Burns are cutting their budget down to help the economy during the war, but maybe saving a few dollars by buying a live turkey for Thanksgiving day is not such a good idea!

These are just a few of the many great old-time radio shows that are perfect for Thanksgiving. So why not gather the family around the radio and enjoy some classic holiday entertainment?

Thanksgiving is a good time for reflection, and a time to start thinking about all the good things in our lives. Take some time to think about what you're grateful for.

We hope you have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving, and that you enjoy listening to these old-time radio shows as much as we do!

Happy Thanksgiving!
